AIICO pension gives Abuja 100 jumpsuits

Management of AIICO Pension Managers Limited has presented about 100 customised jumpsuits for cleaners to the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Presenting the jumpsuits to AEPB at its headquarters in Abuja, Mr Sani Ibrahim Mustapha, AIICO’s Acting Regional Controller (North) said the company has responsibility to the society and natural environment where it operates.
Mustapha, who said AEPB is the first force against dirt and disorder in the nation’s capital, noted that ability to maintain a befitting capital worthy of admiration by citizens and visitors requires hard work.
“This is what we call social responsibility whereby businesses are not only responsible to their shareholders or customers but also responsible to the society and the natural environment in which they operate.
“As the director said, if there is order and cleanliness, people will be healthy- which means our customers will be healthy.
“And if there is order, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on security and other challenges.
“So, businesses should help companies such as AEPB to do their work,” he stressed.
Responding after the presentation of the gifts, Mr Isah Shuaibu, AEPB director thanked the company for the support, saying it showed that people are becoming responsible to the environment.
Shuaibu enjoined other companies to emulate AIICO by considering the move as a signal for them to join government in promoting a healthy environment.
