...Raila Odinga sends emissaries to Olumba

A two-man emissary from Raila Odinga was yesterday at the world headquarters of a spiritual organization, Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, based in Calabar Nigeria to court Leader Olumba Olumba Obu’s spiritual support and favours to enable him win the race.

Led by a priest who is resident in Kenya, Joseph Abeng, the delegation was received inside the worship hall of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star by Leader Obu who is reported to have influential presence and following in that country.
Abeng said Odinga has a lot of respect for the leader of the spiritual organization and believes that his prayers which have helped him previously could also work in his favour during the presidential election.
Abeng said Odinga who faces stiff opposition from one of the leading candidates, Uhuru Kenyatta, son of the founder of modern Kenya, asked him to appeal to His Holiness Olumba Obu to pray and work for him.
According to Abeng, in his personal calculation, if Odinga who is believed to be well loved by Kenyans, wins the election Kenyans will be happier.
 He therefore appealed to Obu to help Odinga win to avert another bloodshed arising from electoral controversy.
In his response, Obu said since Odinga had taken the trouble to send emissaries to visit him, it is important that he (Odinga) does not think of repaying any of his opponents who might have wronged him with the same coin but to exhibit the virtue of peace and forgiveness throughout and beyond his campaign.
According to Abeng who spoke with journalists, Obu merely asked his faithful to sing spiritual choruses, saying it was guaranteed that the lot had already fallen on Odinga as the one to win the March 4 Kenyan presidential election.
